Liposuction of the Abdomen
Are you exhausted of diet and exercise? Sill trying to get those “chiseled abs”? If you’re unhappy or frustrated with your stomach area, then liposuction is for you!
What is Liposuction of the Abdomen?
The abdomen is the most common area of the body to be treated by liposuction for both men and women. It is extremely effective when sculpting and shaping the abdominal area by removing the excess fat deposits while tightening the skin.
Who is a candidate for liposuction of the abdomen?
There are a few important factors that have to be considered when choosing a candidate such as:
- Have you experienced previous weight gain or loss?
- Previous weight gain/loss can make liposuction more difficult because the fat deposits are thicker and harder to treat.
- Have you had a previous pregnancy?
- For the most part, pregnancy stretches the abdominal muscles creating the ” Kangaroo Pooch” most women develop post baby.
- Have you had a C-section delivery?
- Common for most C- section deliveries is that “pooch” that form above the incision mark.
How is liposuction of the abdomen performed?
Liposuction of the abdomen is performed the same way as other liposuction procedures done under a general local anesthetic, small incisions are made, and using a small cannula to remove fat.
How long does the procedure take?
This procedure can take anywhere between 45 minutes up to two hours, with a recovery time of two weeks.
What type of results can I expect?
After the procedure, the treated area is wrapped with bandaging, and the patient must wear a compression garment for one to two weeks. Patients will experience some bruising, swelling, and some pain that may last up to two to six weeks, however, everyone is different.
Are there any alternative procedures to treat the abdomen?
Yes there are other alternatives to treating the abdomen such as:
